Don’t miss the lineup of spooky — but healthy — snacks at today’s Harvest Festival.

“Monster teeth,” “scarecrow hands,” “witches’ broomsticks,” “sneaky spiders” and “candy corn fruit parfaits” are just a few of the recipes available for sampling at the event, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30. Prepared by each class at Kids Unlimited Academy, these treats celebrate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, as well as KUA’s commitment to wholesome foods.

Fresh and dried fruits and veggies, nuts and whole-grain products are the stars of students’ recipes, assembled to evoke ghosts, monsters, pumpkins, creepy crawlers and other icons of the holidays. Families attending the Harvest Festival can sample students’ efforts by presenting tasting tickets — and then vote for their favorites.
