More morning enrichment options, no change to drop-off, pickup times

More enrichment options will be available to Kids Unlimited Academy students each morning of the 2024-25 school year.

New sessions in Spanish and French language, as well as typing, digital media and mindfulness accompany math and literacy games, STEAM activities, martial arts and Ms. Annie’s yoga and dance. Students have the option to attend morning enrichment, which is not tied to academic standards, but KUA leadership strongly encourages an early arrival for the school day with time for breakfast and classroom preparedness.

“We still have a lot of students coming to school late, and we want to ensure we have as many students in the classroom by the time the bell rings,” said Lupita Vargas, KU director of educational services.

KUA classes start each day at 9 a.m., beginning in the 2024-25 academic year. Any students arriving after 9 a.m. will be marked tardy. KUA families living in the Medford School District could continue to sign up for the bus services, which will operate as usual for KUA.

Drop-off time for morning enrichment and breakfast service remains 7:30 a.m., and pick-up is no later than 4:30 p.m. for 2024-25.

“The intention behind moving our schedule is to have a longer period in the morning where students will have more of a soft start with activities that will prepare them for the classroom,” said Vargas.

There is a $200 monthly fee for KUA enrichment, plus a $20 annual registration fee. Scholarships are available. See kuaoregon.org/after-school/
